America is a Republic, NOT a Democracy

One of the biggest lies that many Americans believe is that our country is a democracy. While a democracy sounds fair, it is fundamentally flawed. But more importantly, the system of government in the United States, as laid out by the Constitution, is a Republic
The Constitution, specifically the Bill of Rights, creates Rights that are inherent, more simply, permanent. Understanding the importance of this, and adhering to this principle, is essential to having liberty.
More simply, in a democracy, the Constitution would hold little value. The majority could impose their will on the minority. Guns could be banned, certain forms of free speech that the majority didn't agree with could be banned, etc. As a Republic, these Rights are inherent, meaning the government, and the majority, do not have the authority to infringe upon them.
The sooner we can understand that the Constitution is the most important document in the history of the world, and that by abandoning the principles laid out in it will lead to the destruction of America as we know it, the better off we will be.
